Effective Date: March 24, 2026

1. Eligibility & Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and capable of entering into a binding agreement.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate, complete information during registration and keep it updated.

2. Description of Service

Cursive Translator provides online tools that help users convert cursive handwriting into editable text. The Service may include upload, transcription, formatting, export, storage, history, and account features.

We may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. User Content

  • You retain ownership of the content you upload.
  • By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and transform it solely as needed to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
  • You represent and warrant that you have all rights, permissions, and legal authority necessary to upload, process, transcribe, edit, and export the content.
  • You are solely responsible for the content you upload, any instructions you provide, and how you use any transcript or output generated by the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

We reserve the right to investigate and suspend accounts when misuse is suspected.

  • Do not upload, process, store, or distribute unlawful, infringing, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, exploitative, or otherwise harmful content.
  • Do not use the Service to transcribe, extract, or reuse content in a way that violates applicable law, contractual restrictions, privacy rights, publicity rights, or the rights of any third party.
  • Do not reverse engineer, scrape, probe, disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' data.
  • Do not attempt to bypass usage limits, account restrictions, security controls, or technical protections.
  • Do not use the Service to create false transcripts, misleading records, forged documents, or other deceptive materials intended for fraud or unlawful conduct.

5. Plans, Billing & Credits

Some features may require a paid plan, prepaid credits, or usage-based fees. Pricing, usage allowances, renewal terms, and applicable limits will be presented at the time of purchase or signup.

Unless otherwise stated, fees are charged in advance, are non-refundable, and may change prospectively. If pricing changes for a recurring plan, the updated pricing will apply no earlier than the next billing cycle after notice, unless applicable law requires a different process.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party providers for hosting, storage, infrastructure, analytics, authentication, communications, and transcription-related processing support. We are not responsible for third-party services to the extent permitted by law, and your use of third-party services may also be subject to their terms and policies.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, interface, workflows, branding, and related intellectual property, is owned by Cursive Translator or its licensors. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, all rights are reserved.

8. Feedback

If you share comments or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without obligation.

9. Termination

We may suspend, limit, or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, failed to pay required fees, or if continued operation is no longer commercially practical. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

  • No Guarantee of Accuracy: Transcriptions may be incomplete, imperfect, incorrectly formatted, or inaccurate, especially when handwriting is unclear, stylized, low-quality, partially obscured, or written in mixed languages.
  • Not Suitable for Critical Use: You must not rely on transcripts or generated outputs as a substitute for human review in legal, regulatory, evidentiary, medical, insurance, employment, identity verification, compliance, archival, academic integrity, or other high-risk contexts.
  • Use at Your Own Risk: You are solely responsible for reviewing all outputs before using, sharing, publishing, storing, or relying on them.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cursive Translator, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, agents, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or use, arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service;
  • The quality, suitability, legality, or accuracy of any transcription, extracted text, translation, formatting, or related result;
  • Any reliance on transcripts or other generated outputs;
  • Any errors, omissions, corruption, delays, deletions, or failures involving uploaded content or processed outputs;
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data;
  • Any third-party service, provider, or dependency used in connection with the Service;
  • Any other matter relating to the Service.

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cursive Translator and its affiliates, personnel, and licensors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to your content, your use of the Service, your outputs, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

14. International Users

If you access the Service outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with local laws. We make no representation that the Service is appropriate in every jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
